What is an Electrostatic Sprayer

Electrostatic phenomena can be seen when articles of clothing cling together. The electric force for charges at rest have certain properties:

Thus, two negative charges repel one another, while a positive charge attracts a negative charge. Electrostatic sprayers positively charge the chemical disinfectant in the tank and out the spray nozzle. This creates a greater attraction for better coverage and disinfection. These “super-charged” droplets actively seek out negative or neutral surfaces and because the disinfectant has been positively charged subsequently wraps around surfaces thus providing full coverage of surfaces.
